Āki / Whakapono

Counter / Belief draws together new and recent craft practices that contemplate the tracing and tension of objects as recorders of histories, accumulated memories and customary behaviours. This exhibition aims to build a contemporary framework for examining forms of recorded action while exploring closer thresholds between social archaeologies and customary linages for these recent graduates.

RAMP is a contemporary public art gallery, situated in the heart of Hamilton City at Wintec’s School of Media Arts. RAMP runs a curated programme of exhibitions showing work from New Zealand and International artists.  RAMP also has an education and public programme running alongside each exhibition with artist talks, public panels and film screenings happening through the year.  Established in 1997, RAMP underwent a major expansion and refurbishment in 2013.


RAMP is free and open to all visitors from Monday to Friday 12.30pm - 4pm, or by appointment. Opening preview 24 February and show closes 11 March 2016.
